What type of boaters do you have at your marina?
Georgetown Yacht Basin hosts a wide variety of boaters. Generally speaking, our facility has around 40% sail and 60% power boats. We are proud to have a diverse group of friendly, family oriented customers, many of whom are 2nd generation boaters on the Sassafras River.
How deep is the Sassafras River?
The Sassafras River is a naturally deep fresh water river. Within the channel you will encounter water no less than 10 feet in depth. This is why GYB can offer superb deep-water dockage on the majority of our docks.
The mean tide for the Sassafras River is 2-3 feet.
How far are you from the Chesapeake Bay?
The Sassafras River winds 7 beautiful miles to the Chesapeake Bay.

GYB offers dinghy storage racks at several locations around the facility free of charge to annual slip holders. Dinghy storage operates on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also store your dinghy in your slip as long as it is contained within the parameter of the pilings. GYB requires that all dinghies, kayaks and small craft be removed for the winter season.

GYB offers free Wi-Fi to all of our customers. Annual customers will receive the username and password codes in the mail several times a year. If you are in need of these access codes you can contact us in the Marine Store or Dock Office for a replacement card or by phone at (410) 648-5112.
Cable television is only available under our covered sheds at I, J and K piers. Cable television service is not directly provided through GYB. Please contact Comcast for cable service if you have your boat under cover at GYB and wish to obtain cable service. If you are a current covered dockage customer, please call 1-800-COMCAST to obtain cable service. If you are not a covered dockage customer, please visit our Wi-Fi page for other options regarding television and internet services.
Where is the closest grocery store?
Our Marine Store / Harbor Shop has a small chandlery for your basic needs including health and beauty aids, cleaning supplies, beverages, beer, wine and ice. If you are in need of a larger grocer, Ottwell's Market is located in Galena, about 1.3 miles south of GYB.
Yes. GYB offers a 7 passenger minivan* for hourly rental. Please contact our Marine Store for details. *Note: rental vehicle is only available to US citizens, 25 years of age or older, with a valid US driver's license.
How can I make dinner reservations?
We do not accept dining reservations for the Granary Restaurant or the Kitty Knight Restaurant. To obtain reservations, please call (410) 275-1600 for the Granary and (410) 648-5200 for the Kitty Knight.
